|Diane Davis Receives the Passion & Results Award|
Congratulations to Diane Davis who was one of three people in the United States to receive the Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) "Passion & Results" Award.
Davis is a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She has been an ACH employee for almost 23 years.
The "Passion & Results" Award honors healthcare providers who have demonstrated true passion for their profession, resulting in improved patient care. Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) received an overwhelming number of nominations for professionals involved in Critical Care and Hemostasis diagnostics, all around the world.
She received the award during ceremonies at the Annual Meeting for the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), in Chicago during July. The award comes with a $2,000 educational grant for their institution in recognition of their "passion and results."
"I was honored to receive the award, as I considered that I was representing all the staff here at All Children's who perform lab tests at the bedside as part of our mission to provide the best possible care for our patients," Davis said.
"We are very proud of Diane and the impact she makes as a healthcare professional, passionately striving to enhance the quality of patient care at All Children's Hospital. We salute Diane and all of the staff who show exceptional passion, dedication and commitment to our patients," said Becky DeCroteau, ACH Director, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
In announcing the award, IL said that Ms. Davis exemplifies the pioneering Point of Care (POC) Coordinator, developing an entire POC testing program - from scratch and with no set of directions or an existing model.
"IL is proud to honor these inspiring individuals who exhibit remarkable passion and an unmatched commitment to achieving the best results for their patients," said Joseph Manent, CEO at IL.
Davis's Point of Care Testing (POCT) program, initiated in 1994, has been heralded as "one of the best" in the United States. It provides testing for three pediatric ICUs, the NICU, CVOR, Cath Lab, and the Emergency Center.
