The Dylan Crane Story

Dylan Crane PhotoDylan Crane touched the hearts of people around the world as they followed the story of his courageous struggle with bone cancer and his death on June 8, 2005. Dylan wanted to be a filmmaker when he grew up, so when he was diagnosed with bone cancer during the fall of 2004 he began making his own documentary film: "My Cancer Miracle." He wanted children everywhere to know that cancer wasn't something to be afraid of -- they could expect a miracle.

In April, just after he turned 13, Dylan was onstage to receive the film's first award. Just a few days later he was back in the hospital and had to put down his camera. His liver had shut down, a rare side effect of the high-dose chemotherapy he needed because his tumor had spread to other bones even before his diagnosis. Dylan's spirit lives on in everyone he inspired, and his video has gone on to win national awards.
