Description:Performs daily billing activity for pharmacy services. Provides direct and indirect support to Pharmacy Buyer and Management with daily operations for medication procurement and storage as well as fiscal, regulatory & quality accountability. Maintains established competency & all requirements of Pharmacy Technician I related to all scheduled areas of responsibility. Maintains established competency through regular rotational scheduling in at least two (2) specialized areas of technical focus Medication Reconciliation, Automation, Non-Sterile Processes, Sterile Processes, Chemotherapy, Actively participates as preceptor for Pharmacy Technician I and Pharmacy students at least twice annually. Consistently utilizes leadership skills in support of management directives by mentoring and coordinating ideas with peers who desire to participate and engage in process improvement of the pharmacy department. Must complete TREAT portfolio yearly to achieve and maintain level II.
High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Some college preferred. Active Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration required. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician certification training program preferred. Two or more years of pharmacy experience required. One or more years of pharmacy experience in a hospital setting preferred. Two or more years of pharmacy billing and purchasing experience with at least 1 or more years in a hospital setting preferred. Ability to lead, present and influence compliant behaviors. Prior training and experience in USP 797 Standards preferred. Demonstrated proficiency as Pharmacy Technician I in scheduled area of responsibility, including automation and robotic compounding equipment, as applicable. Must possess strong mathmatic, analytic and critical thinking skills. Must be able to function independently under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Excellent computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, Outlook
