2 Per Diem Sitter positions to fill.
The Sitter provides direct observation of patients placed on Suicide/Self Destructive Behavior, in order to provide the maximum protection of both patients and staff. The Sitter will be under the supervision of the RN accountable for the patient. This individual must have completed the educational requirements set by All Children’s Hospital.
Must be a high school graduate. Must possess good communication skills. Must be able to see, hear, speak, read, and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty. Completed Sitter training Professional appearance and behaviors are expected at all times. Hospital required education, tasks and unit specific competency pathways are due on time. Failure to complete timely will result negatively on education section of employee’s evaluation and may prohibit ability to work until outstanding items are successfully completed. Hospital based patient care experience preferred. Pediatric experience highly desirable. Some departments may have additional experience requirements related to their specialty. Will be required to float to departments throughout the hospital. Able to read/write/speak and understand English proficiently. Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress. Work hours may include weekend, holidays, and other shifts.
