Demonstrates expertise in the examination, testing, and clinical management of children with congenital heart disease and post-operative CV surgery. Provides patient/family education. Performs administrative duties such as dictation of findings and location of prior medical records. Initiates/implements research projects. Works in collaboration with medical, nursing and support services to provide family centered care. Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
Must hold current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner licensure or endorsement, in Pediatrics, by the Florida State Board of Nursing. Must have minimum 2 year experience in pediatrics. Experience in Cardiac/ Cardiac Surgery practice preferred. Ability to perform physical activity, including, but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching and stooping. Auditory and visual acuity to assess patients and provide nursing care. Must be able to understand and react effectively to the age specific needs unique to assigned patients. Interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively deal with stress. Read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Perform CPR on all ages. Demonstrates annual competencies related to Nurse Practitioner skills based upon assigned responsibilities. BLS/PALS required.
