RN Practitioner

Description: Florida Hospital Tampa/Wesley Chapel Neonatology Location RN Practitioner - Neonatology The neonatal nurse practitioner is an advanced registered nurse practitioner who demonstrates expertise in the clinical management of the neonate and infant. The practitioner role is multi-faceted and includes clinical management of the high risk neonate and infant, educational responsibilities, administrative duties, consulting, and initiating/implementing research. The neonatal nurse practitioner works in collaboration with medical, nursing and support services to provide family centered care. The neonatal nurse practitioner maintains active participation in his/her own continued education and professional development.
Requirements: Current licensure in the State of Florida as a registered nurse/advanced registered nurse practitioner. Current national certification as a neonatal nurse practitioner, OR eligible for and achieves national certification as an NNP within 2 years of hire. Graduate of an approved nurse practitioner program.Masters degree in nursing or related health care field preferred. Minimum of 3 years work experience as an RN; Level 3 neonatal nursing preferred. Expert clinical, written and verbal communication.The cognitive ability to safely administer medications. Physical ability to perform all aspects of patient care, including CPR, on all patients ranging in age from neonate to adult.Read/write/speak and understand English. Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nursing care. Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff.Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress.
