The Clinical Leader is responsible for coordinating activities of the specialty within his/her charge. The Clinical Leader serves as a resource person for the Operating Room staff, and a liaison between the surgeon and the department while recognizing departmental and AORN standards of care and ensuring safe quality patient care is delivered. Additionally, maintains inventory of designated equipment and will assume teaching responsibilities within their specialty service. The Clinical Leader will direct and supervise the departmental schedule in the O.R. in the absence of the Desk Coordinator and maintain on-call status as assigned. They will be responsible and accountable for the financial component for their specialty service. Actively supports the Mission and Vision of All Children's Hospital.
Ability to perform physical activity, including, but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.) lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching, and stooping.
Current licensure in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field is required with a minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for an Associate Degree with extensive(in excess of 5 yrs) OR experience.
Specialty Certification required or obtained within 1 year of appointment to position.
Cognitive skill required to safely administer medication
Physical ability to perform all aspects of patient care, including CPR on all patients ranging in age from neonate to adult.
Read/write/speak and understand English.
Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nursing care.
Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff.
Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress
