||The pediatric nurse practitioner is an advanced registered nurse practitioner who demonstrates expertise in the clinical management of the child. The practitioner role is multi-faceted and includes clinical management, educational responsibilities, administrative duties, consulting, and initiating/implementing research. The pediatric nurse practitioner works in collaboration with medical, nursing, and support services to provide family centered care. The practitioner maintains active participation in his/her own coCurrent licensure in the State of Florida as a registered nurse/advanced registered nurse practitioner.
Masters of Science obtained within 2 years of hire in Nursing or a related field.
Current national certification as a nurse practitioner in speciality.
Minimum of 5 years work experience as an RN with at least 2 years in a specialty area of pediatric nursing.
Expert clinical, written and verbal communication skills.The cognitive ability to safely administer medications.
Physical ability to perform all aspects of patient care, including BLS,PALS on all patients ranging in age from neonate to adult.Read/write/speak and understand English.
Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nursing care.
Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff.
Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress.
Ability to move about the hospital campus.
Ability to perform physical activity including, but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching and stooping.Knowledge of theories and techniques for teaching/learning, change, leadership and administration.
