Performs Medical Assistant tasks and designated procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs office support duties as assigned by Center Director.
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. Completion of Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent education (course work) and experience required. Phlebotomy experience required; pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred. CPR Certification. Ability to perform physical activity, including, but not limited to: repetitive motions, feeling, grasping, fingering (pinching, typing, handling, etc.), lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, reaching, crouching, and stooping. Must have auditory and visual acuity to provide care and operate general office equipment. Must be able to demonstrate age-specific competency in the care of patients (infant through adult). Needs ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Good interpersonal skills required. Basic math skills and light typing required. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Needs ability to effectively deal with stress and patient volume fluctuations. One-two years ambulatory care/medical office and pediatric experience preferred
