$3,926,121 RAISED AT THE 31st ANNUAL ALL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL TELETHON
St. Petersburg, FL - June 1, 2014 – All Children's Hospital will continue to create healthy tomorrows for children across the region thanks to another year of donations at its 31st annual telethon. With the help of thousands of donors this year, the hospital raised $3,926,121 during the 11 ½ hour live broadcast on WFLA-TV News Channel 8, as well as through the taped broadcast on WXCW in the Ft. Myers/Naples area. Money raised through the telethon will directly fund treatment, research, education and advocacy initiatives at All Children's Hospital.
With the theme, "Put your money where the miracles are," this year's telethon highlighted patient stories that showcase the cardiology, cancer, neurology and neonatal care services All Children's Hospital provides as a regional referral center for specialized pediatric care.
"As the most advanced children's hospital on Florida's West coast and a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, All Children's Hospital is dedicated to providing quality care and improving the health of children," said Jenine Rabin, All Children's Hospital Foundation Executive Vice President. "We could not impact so many young lives and provide our outstanding care for children without the help of those in the community. We are overwhelmed at the continued support of those in the Tampa Bay region."
The telethon has raised more than $89-million since the first broadcast in 1984 and is part of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), an alliance of premier hospitals for children and a non-profit organization dedicated to helping provide quality care for children. CMNH raises money for 170 children's hospitals across North America through partnerships with their local TV stations.
